Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to the OMEGA CTF 2026 platform operated by the Computer Science Students Association (CSSA), Department of Computer Science, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Adarsha Mahavidyalaya (PDUAM), Amjonga, Assam. We are committed to safeguarding participant privacy and transparency.

• Account Details: Username, email address, affiliated team name, and password hash (cryptographically hashed using salted bcrypt; plaintext passwords are never stored).
• Competition Telemetry: Challenge solve timestamps, submission attempts, flag submission telemetry, and team score progression.
• System & Access Logs: IP address, timestamp, and HTTP User-Agent headers recorded for security monitoring, anti-cheat enforcement, and rate limiting.

• Competition Administration: Authenticating users, computing live leaderboard scores, and organizing team rosters.
• Anti-Cheat & Audit: Investigating collusions, multi-accounting, unauthorized traffic, or denial-of-service attempts.
• Communication & Awards: Sending essential competition notifications (e.g., account confirmation, password reset) and contacting prize winners for certificate and reward distribution.

All communication with the portal is encrypted via HTTPS / TLS. Databases and caches are protected behind private VPC networks with strict access controls. Passwords are never stored in plaintext or logged.

• Transactional Emails: Dispatched via Resend API (HTTPS) solely for registration confirmation and password resets.
• Hosting & Edge CDN: Hosted on Render and Vercel cloud environments adhering to standard industry data protection standards.
