Rules & Guidelines

Please review the competition rules carefully before commencing the CTF. Violating these guidelines will result in penalty or disqualification.

01

Flag Format & Default Prefix

Default Flag Format: If a flag format is not explicitly specified in a challenge description, all flags will start with OMEGA{...} (case-sensitive).

Submit the entire flag string verbatim, including the wrapper prefix OMEGA{ and closing brace } (e.g. OMEGA{sample_flag_here}). Do not include leading or trailing spaces.

💡 Rule: If the flag is not specified, then all flags will start from OMEGA{}.
02

Certificate Eligibility Requirement

To qualify for an official CSSA Departmental Certificate of Participation, a team (and its registered members) must actively participate and earn at least some points by solving challenges during the competition.

Important: Teams and participants with a score of 0 points will not receive a participation certificate.
03

Fair Play & Code of Conduct

OMEGA CTF is an academic learning and competition environment. The following rules are strictly enforced:

  • No Flag Sharing: Sharing flags, solution scripts, or step-by-step walkthroughs between different teams is strictly forbidden.
  • Infrastructure Protection: Do not attack, flood, denial-of-service (DoS/DDoS), or disrupt the competition platform, scoring server, or network infrastructure. All challenges can be solved without attacking CTFd itself.
  • No Account Tampering: Do not attempt to access, hijack, or tamper with other teams' accounts, profiles, or challenge instances.
  • No Brute-Forcing: Automated brute-forcing of the flag submission box or challenge endpoints is prohibited.
  • Have Fun: Learn new skills, challenge yourself, collaborate with your squad, and enjoy the event!
04

Teams & Squad Size

Teams may consist of 1 to 3 members. Each competitor may belong to only one team. Squads must be formed and finalized before or during initial registration.

05

Scoring & Submissions

Points decay dynamically as more teams solve a challenge. Solve quickly to secure high point yields. First blood bonuses are awarded to the earliest solver on select tracks. In the event of a tie on points, the team that reached the score earlier ranks higher.

06

Organizers' Authority

Organizers and lab coordinators are available in the venue and online for questions and system clarifications. The organizers' interpretation of rules and scoring decisions is final.
